Farmington Youth Group
Hello everyone. This is Avery and Tyler blogging about our sessions we have had with out youth group.
Session 1: In the first session, we all got together and talked about ourselves, to get to know each other. Although we already knew alot about the people, we learned a few new things as well. This helped us in our later sessions to get along a little better. We also laid down the ground rules. This helped ALOT, seeing how everyone got to speak and didn’t get left out.
Session 2: In this session we talked about poverty. Not everyone in our group knew what poverty was so we explained it to them. We then created a vision in where our community thrived. This was hard at first but we got the hang of it after a while.
Session 3: In this meeting we got to talking alot. Once we all understood what poverty was, we got to talking about it alot. We came up with alot of ideas of why poverty was in our community. We also quickly thought of some ideads that might fix it.
Session 4: This is were the ideas we thought about in our last session really came to life. We came up with even more ideas. We also had some ideas for the Farmington Strawberry Festival coming up in the summer.
Session 5: We were slow to move here. It took us a while to get going, but we did finally get some ideas and an action plan started. All in all, i think our meetings went well.
